Darren Bowen - January 2010
Darren Bowen - January 2010

As we all know January brought us new challenges due to the surprise weather conditions and it is Darren’s proactive approach to dealing with this that really stood out. During the bad weather he picked colleagues in his own car to get people to work as well as dropping them off safely at home. Darren tirelessly ensured snow was cleared and salted all the areas so they did not freeze overnight. It is largely down to Darren’s approach in dealing with the weather challenge that operations were able to continue as normally as possible and maintaining the service required by our customers.

Many congratulations

Tom Ashley - October 2009
Tom Ashley - October 2009

Tom’s pro-active approach prevented the potential loss of customer product by theft/fraud. His awareness and attention to detail he caused him to raise concerns over the validity of a 3rd Party attempting to arrange collection of 2 pallets of product. Tom impressed with the level of detail he ensured was captured at the time of the incident whilst coordinating with Lee in arranging the police to come on site to question the person attempting to collect goods. This could have had a very different outcome had Tom not thought to raise questions of the circumstances and have the tenacity to follow this through.

Many congratulations

John & Helen fight it out for the January award!

Once again there were a great number of nominations for the Staff Member of the Month award for January in fact a total of 25 different staff were nominated.  Ultimately though it came down to two  long standing members of the team with many nominations for each of them.

Helen Nichols - ILG Direct joined 2002Helen Nichols joined ILG in 2002 and and has undertaken various roles with the company.  Helen was nominated by many people across the company for her continued dedication to her work and the tireless effort she puts in for the ILG Direct team and its clients.  Although this has become the norm for Helen it  was particularly visible during January when her colleague Suzie was off on holiday in Australia.

Helen takes great pride in her work and is devoted to the ILG Direct clients and works tirelessly to ensure every shipment for every client is delivered on time.

Fulfilment Account Manager - ILG Assured joined 1996John Funnell joined ILG way back in 1996 - no I know he doesn't look old enough!

John has worked in many different areas of our business and his depth of knowledge is of great benefit to ILG and its clients.  In January John temporarily moved away from his Account Manager role in ILG Assured to oversee a major global distribution of  300,000 directories for our client SLH.  With this project successfully completed John flew out to Eindhoven for a review with our fulfilment client Denon Marantz, this entailed leaving home at 4.30am and returning home to his family at 8.30pm.  John's willingness to go that extra mile was highlighted at the meeting as one of the key reasons ILG had just been given an extension of this long standing fulfilment contract.

So two very worth winners but there can only be one and it was felt that John just edged it.....

Many congratulations to John Funnell our winner for January.

fulfilment servicesJim Pantlin wins Staff Member of the Month

There were many people nominated for December after an incredibly busy month, two people stood out from the rest namely Lizzie Davis & Jim Pantlin after we saw record numbers of consignments flowing through our facilities.  So many congratulatons to Lizzie who receives an award for 2nd place.
But as we know there can only be one winner and this month it's Jim who during December took over the day to day running of the fulfilment team in what turned out to be a record month in our 18 year history; many long days and weekends from a team of people were necessary to keep ahead of the volume of orders.  So many congratluations to Jim, Lizzie and all the other nominees in December

www.charlesward.com and their Web Team

So the 18 year old compass is no more, it has served us well but time to move on to a new look and a new era for ILG.

All feedback whether positive or negative is gratefully received grant@ilguk.com

ILG clients receive rebrand letter

I am delighted to be writing to you to advise you of some significant developments here at ILG.

On the 1st November this year we marked our 18th anniversary - quite a milestone for any company I am sure you will agree!  This we are most proud of, and have decided to celebrate this achievement by implementing some change.

I am therefore pleased to announce our re-branding together with the launch of our new website and corporate image which will go live on 15th December 2008.

Back in June of 2007 we decided to split the business down into two divisions, which we have now branded ‘ILG Assured’, for our warehousing and fulfilment services and ‘ILG Direct’ our courier, mail & freight services. This change was a major success for us and has given us far greater clarity, focus and the attention to detail that is required of any business in today’s climate if they are to succeed.

With our re-branding, we have decided to take this theme one step further through our marketing and corporate image and now have 3 ILG ‘corporate colours’.  We have the ‘Group’ Orange, followed by the Divisional Red for ILG Assured and Green for ILG Direct.  From now on you will see these Divisional colours flow throughout our correspondence.

So, what will this mean to you, our valued client?

We have re-invested heavily in technology, our website has been completely re-vamped in order that it can cope with greater volume more efficiently, and it will offer you reporting and filtering functionality second to none and access to secure real time information at the push of a button.  Over the next few days one of the ILG team will be in contact with you to demonstrate some of the new features and benefits of the new system.

As far as your interaction with the company going forward you will already have noticed new e-mail addresses - but do not worry this flow will be seamless and all the old lines of communication will remain open until such time as you have been able to amend your records, and all telephone numbers will remain the same at both facilities.

You will still be dealing with International Logistics Group Limited, or ‘ILG’ as it will simply now be known - and all paperwork and central company correspondence should still be addressed to our head office in Burgess Hill.  However, any divisional correspondence may now be addressed to the individual contact in question at their respective site, either Burgess Hill or Gatwick.  Should you have any queries regarding the above please do not hesitate to contact us at anytime.

These are exciting times for ILG and we are just delighted to be able to share them with you; so many thanks for your support and we look forward to working with you for many years to come.

Yours sincerely
International Logistics Group Ltd

Grant Ashley
Managing Director
