Helping Our Communities

We believe in giving back to our local communities, places where so many ILG staff live or grew up. As well as charity fundraising, we provide employment opportunities for disadvantaged young people and those with learning challenges.

Kickstarting Careers for Young People

In 2021 we offered 27 local unemployed young people job placements across our warehouse facilities as part of the DWP’s Kickstart Scheme. ILG gave each Kickstarter six months of guaranteed paid work, tailored training and help with CV writing, job searching tips and interview techniques. So far, 10 participants have gone on to secure permanent or fixed-term contracts at ILG.

Raising Funds for Rockinghorse Children’s Charity

We support The Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, an inspirational local charity committed to supporting sick and disabled children throughout Sussex since 1967. They provide help both in and out of hospitals, making sure that children get the best possible chance in life – they have supported nearly a million babies, children, and teenagers.

Supporting Aldingbourne Trust WorkAid

We work closely with Aldingbourne Trust, a Sussex charity focused on improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and/or autism. By participating in the Aldingbourne Trust WorkAid initiative, we provide paid employment to individuals challenged by lifelong learning disability, helping to grow their skills and confidence in a fast-moving, inclusive work environment.
