What did you do before you joined ILG?
Before joining ILG I worked mainly in the retail sector on the High Street and at the airport. My roles were Sales Advisor and Supervisor.
Why did you join ILG?
I was made redundant in my previous job at the airport and was looking for a job which involved something different. I joined ILG via an agency and then I was offered a permanent job.
What does your job involve?
My job involves fulfilling different customer contracts in the warehouse. This involves picking, packing and shipping as well as supervising a small team. In addition to this I also book in new stock that is delivered and train staff on new contracts.
What training and development opportunities have you had at ILG?
I started as an agency worker and I was then offered a permanent part-time job as a Warehouse Assistant. I worked my way through the training matrix and gradually learnt different contracts and this has enabled me to take on the role of Warehouse Section Manager. I am also qualified as a First Aider.
How would you describe the working environment and culture?
“The working environment at ILG is very friendly, I enjoy the fast-paced nature of the work and I also like the family atmosphere. I know most of the people working in the various departments.”
What does the future hold for you at ILG?
I enjoy my current role as a Warehouse Section Manager but if an opportunity arises in the future at ILG that would be suitable for me I would certainly consider it.
