Bordelle is a new, high quality concept in women’s experimental lingerie that blurs the lines between seduction and ready to wear with an exclusive customised fabric construction method. When the brand launched at Selfridges in 2009, its girdle dresses sold out within 24 hours.
Since then Bordelle has gone from strength to strength, developing an e-commerce platform and selling in over 20 countries worldwide. By 2016 the company had reached a point where the need to fulfil orders was impacting on its capacity to grow the business. It began to look for a fulfilment partner that could not only implement the migration of its fulfilment to a new system, capable of managing wholesale as well as e-commerce orders, but also maintain the high-end boutique experience through immaculate branded gift wrapping and packaging. Following a recommendation, Bordelle approached ILG.
A dedicated Implementation Manager worked closely with Bordelle, leading the project and using his extensive knowledge to ensure that the migration of its order fulfilment to ILG was seamless. The implementation plan included the integration of two different IT systems, for wholesale and e-commerce orders, the personalisation of dispatch emails and extensive training of the ILG warehouse team in the bespoke gift wrapping and packaging that is so important to Bordelle’s brand image. This included a ‘know your customer’ presentation by Bordelle to ensure the ILG team fully understood the product, the quality controls and detailed packing required.
We are now handling over 3,000 units per month for Bordelle across wholesale and e-commerce, with e-commerce orders trebling in the first three months of our involvement. Our services ensure swift, cost-effective deliveries within the UK and overseas, plus the all important wrapping and packaging that is a Bordelle hallmark.
