ILG is ISO 14001 Accredited!

Another Step Forward in Our Sustainability Journey.

We are thrilled to announce that ILG has been awarded the ISO 14001 certification, demonstrating our commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible business practices. This is a significant milestone for ILG in our sustainability journey and we are excited to share this achievement with our employees, clients and partners.

The ISO 14001 certification is an internationally recognised standard that provides a framework for companies to manage their environmental impact. The certification process involves a rigorous evaluation of our environmental management systems (EMS), processes and policies, and confirms that ILG is in compliance with the highest environmental standards.

At ILG, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously and this certification is a testament to our dedication to sustainability. We are committed to minimising our impact on the environment, and this includes reducing waste, powering our facilities with green energy, using recycled and recyclable materials, and cutting our carbon emissions.

ILG’s ISO 14001 accreditation involved a third-party certification process, in which an independent certification body audited our EMS to ensure it meets the requirements of the standard.

To achieve accreditation, we had to demonstrate our commitment to environmental management and improvement, establish and implement an EMS that addresses key environmental impacts and risks, set environmental targets and monitor and measure our performance against these objectives. In June of 2022, we achieved our previous environmental target (8 months early!) of reducing our carbon emissions by 35% by 2023. Now we’re busy setting our next target to work towards as part of our EMS.

Our staff and clients are keen to engage with a sustainable employer and partner, and our ISO 14001 status will help us to continuously improve.

“We are aware of the impact our growing business has on the environment and we want to be an accountable business where staff are encouraged to bring ideas and questions about what we are doing and what we can do better. Having this accreditation is another step in doing as much as we can to reduce our environmental impact.”

Making a Greener Difference

We have already made some significant changes to reduce our impact, including switching all of our sites to green energy, reducing plastic in our warehouses by replacing bubble wrap with paper alternatives, introducing low-energy LED lighting, and running staff initiatives such as Sustainable September.

Our ISO 14001 status allows us to continuously improve as we grow. We are committed to only opening sustainable facilities with sensor lights, electric charging points and high BREAM ratings. We also have a team of ILG Green Champions across our facilities who are motivated by working for an environmentally-conscious company and promoting environment-friendly behaviours company-wide. Further to this, we are choosing suppliers whose environmental practices align closely with ours.

ISO 14001 certification is a significant accomplishment towards a more sustainable future for ILG, and we are proud to have received this accreditation. We remain committed to continuing towards high environmental standards and contributing to a more sustainable future.
