ILG Coronavirus Update

We wanted to update you on how the latest coronavirus climate is impacting ILG’s operations. As is well publicised in the media, Covid-19 is affecting staffing levels across many industries in the UK. Recent government guidance suggests that workplaces should expect up to 25% absence rates in the coming weeks.

Whilst much of ILG’s workforce is fully vaccinated against Covid-19, we are now seeing high levels of virus transmission across the business, resulting in many of our staff isolating and being absent from work.

As always, the safety of our employees and site visitors is our number one priority. Therefore, we continue to operate strict Covid-19 protocols across our facilities. These are in line with the latest scientific opinion and offer the best way to minimise risk to our colleagues and ensure continuity of service to our customers.

  • Social Distancing: All colleagues are continuing to observe social distancing in the workplace and maintain separation of at least two metres
  • Face Coverings: Staff must wear a mask or face covering at all times when at work
  • Cleaning: Our regular cleaning protocols will be kept in place for the foreseeable future
  • Homeworking (Offices): Our homeworking policy recommends a 50/50 split between working from home and the office. In line with the current government guidance, all staff that can work from home are being encouraged to work from home until further notice
  • Ventilation: We have increased ventilation across our facilities
  • Visits to site: We currently have a ban on all visits to site (unless business-critical) to reduce the number of individuals accessing our facilities

Supporting your business

We are doing everything possible to maintain normal service levels and we appreciate your understanding as we manage a fast-moving situation which is changing hourly and without warning.

As such, there may be interruptions to our service offering and SLAs as we manage the high levels of employee absence over the coming weeks. Our staff quotas are calculated to provide some flex and allow us to respond effectively to everyday variations in demand. However, please note that steep or unexpected peaks in order volumes may be more difficult for us to process under the current circumstances and in light of the fast-changing situation.

We continue to review our plans to cope with the increasing absenteeism across the organisation but thank you for your understanding if service is interrupted. Your usual ILG contact is best placed to provide specific dispatch information if required.

Impacts on carriage partners

Unusually high rates of employee absenteeism are also being experienced by many of our carrier partners and may cause delays to shipments once dispatched from ILG’s facilities. As soon as we have any further information from our carriage partners, we will share with you.

Once again, I would like to thank you for your ongoing patience and support. From the outset of the pandemic last year, our aim has been to keep our colleagues safe and continue to give you the best possible service. By implementing the measures above, we can better protect our frontline staff from the virus and keep our warehouses open and fully functional.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and update you regularly. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to any member of the ILG team.
